Oliver continues to grow and is really starting to pack on the pounds. We are amazed how different he looks now compared to the some of the images of when he was first born. He is over 11 pounds and is continuing to develop.
Oliver is also sleeping longer periods at night, which means we both can get more sleep (which is good news for everyone). Oliver has also started to smile and interact with us more and more. He becoming a real treat to have around, able to lift our spirits instantly, whether it is just after work or at 3am.
This week Oliver will be having surgery. He was born with hernia and the doctors wanted to wait until he was at least 10 pounds before he had surgery. Hernias are somewhat common with premies, and we have known about this for months. Although you never want to your child to have surgery, a hernia is actually a significant risk for a baby and is not something you want to leave. We are relieved that this surgery is happening this week.
