Jess and Yan

Friends of ours got married yesterday, and it was a wonderful wedding. The two went the extra step to make the wedding inclusive of everyone who was around. The food was amazing and there was always engaging conversation among everyone that was there.

Thanks Jess and Yan for having us at your wedding.

Japanese Turnips

Probably one of the nicest looking vegetables I see this year, and it came from box program at Saanich Organics. And this is part of the reason, I just simple wouldn’t purchase these if I was in a supermarket, I would say, “What the heck am I going to do with that?” But when it is delivered to your front door, you find a way to cook with them (plus, Saanich Organics gives you handy little sheet with recipes).

Challenge yourself

I am being challeneged, because there are a number of things that I wouldn’t buy at supermarket, but I have enjoyed cooking with them, these include

  • Parsnips
  • Sprouted kale (aka Italian asparagus)
  • Sprouting cauliflour
  • Japanese turnips
  • Radishes
  • Green garlic (they don’t even sell this at the grocery store)

I can’t wait for the next.
